Athep Elidja / Burn October – 2018
“Burn October” is a mesmerizing tale of life, death, and grief set in a small Polish settlement deep within the Argentinean jungle, created for Paris-based producer Ateph Elidja.
Misiones Province, located in the far north of Argentina within the Amazonian jungle, shares borders with Brazil and Paraguay. Throughout the latter half of the 20th century, many Ukrainian, Polish, and German families migrated to this region, establishing colonies and small villages within the land of the indigenous Guarani people. This fusion led to the development of a unique hybrid culture. As Wacho explains: “We wanted to explore this unlikely culture, particularly its views on death and the afterlife.”
Our role involved crafting a visually captivating narrative that embodied the intensity and emotion of the music, directed by the Argentine duo Ed Braun and Justo Dell Acqua (aka WACHO).
